Electrical Project Engineer – Dalkia – Hinkley Point C

All roles on the project support the Zero Harm objective, with a questioning attitude, and drive to uphold standards of safety and quality. A strong work ethic is essential at all levels.

All candidates are expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience directly related to the role criteria. Previous nuclear‑based experience is not required; transferable skills will be considered.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Driving the delivery of contract or package activities to ensure safe, timely, on‑budget performance, meeting business & technical requirements.
  • Developing and implementing strategies and plans aligned with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing mandatory EP strategies within the contract or package of work.
  • Monitoring and managing schedule progress, tracking milestones and deadlines, reporting status to stakeholders.
  • Anticipating, managing, and resolving contract issues, identifying risks, facilitating resolution, updating programme budget, and escalating to the Delivery Manager.
  • Ensuring lessons‑learnt and knowledge capture are practiced as business‑as‑usual.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with all project team members.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience (MEH Matrix)

  • Degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering (LV, HV, MEP installations) or working towards HNC (preferred).
  • Education to Nuclear installation standards including safety‑critical systems.
  • Working towards a professional qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification (desirable).
  • Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, preferably within the nuclear sector or similar regulated environment (desirable).
  • Experience working on heavily unionised sites and with IR managers and trade union representatives.
  • Experience with qualified equipment products/services, including supporting the EQ process.
  • Experience working alongside QA teams to ensure quality compliance, including records, audits and processes.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture and experience working on projects where it forms the basis of the Health & Safety agenda.

Additional Qualifications / Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management and engineering/construction activities.
  • Strong skills in project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
  • Successful experience engaging multi‑level stakeholders, contractors, consultants and advisors.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Understanding of nuclear quality assurance and control.
  • Experience in the design, manufacturing and installation of plant and equipment (LV, HV and MEP scope), including nuclear grade and nuclear safety‑critical plant & equipment.

Working Pattern and Location

  • First 6‑9 months: Bristol (Aztec West/Warmley).
  • From late 2025 / early 2026: Hinkley Point C Construction Site, Wick Moore Drove, Near Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1UD – 9‑day fortnight.
