The Opportunity
Hinkley Point 'C' (HPC) is a vital part of the UK's future energy strategy. As the first of the UK's next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also oversight of our delivery of construction changes such as cost, quality and delivery which is managed in roles such as this. As the Building Coordinator, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring the successful completion of all pending tasks and construction updates within your assigned buildings. Collaborating closely with the JDO Area Lead, as well as the Designer and Construction teams, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping our project on track and in line with our ambitious schedule.

What you'll be doing
- Joining forces with the Joint Design Office (JDO) team, you'll embark on an exciting journey where you will:
- Lead coordination efforts among engineers from multi‑disciplined technical teams.
- Utilise key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to monitor JDO's performance across designated buildings.
- Look for and define opportunities to implement and improve processes and ways of working.
- Ensure timely delivery of all design and construction changes to meet the demands of construction.
- Participate in readiness reviews of Design Packages before construction, as requested by design owners.
- Collaborate closely with Design teams, Contractors, and Construction teams to uphold technical quality standards, construction schedules, and safety protocols.
- Provide proactive updates to the JDO Area Lead and Engineering Manager regarding risks and facilitate swift resolution of any emerging issues.
Who you are
For this role, we're looking for you to hold a degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent along with relevant experience in this field. Specifically in large (multi‑billion £) multi‑disciplined engineering projects, preferably nuclear, working in a variety of different capacities. Familiarity with Contract Management, especially ONR and CDM Regulations, coupled with a talent for maintaining accurate records, is essential. Additionally, your ability to spot procedural improvements and resolve low‑complexity issues within your technical discipline adds great value to the team.
