A fantastic school in the heart of Wandsworth is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with speech and language difficulties in and out of the classroom. You will be supporting students who have SEN within the school's purpose built, modern SEN facilities, as well as supporting them in class. The school's SEN provision has been praised highly by Ofsted in their Outstanding report of the school taken in 2022. This role is perfect for anyone looking to complete an MSc Speech and Language Therapy or similar masters looking to bolster their portfolio. You will also work alongside seasoned mental health and SEN professionals who will help train you and provide insight into the Psychology industry.

What will your 1:1 Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role entail?

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who have speech and language difficulties
  • Support students who have ASD, learning difficulties, ADHD, and dyslexia
  • Supporting SEN/SEND students in and out of the classroom
  • Interventions in phonics, reading, and writing

Long Term position for the duration of the academic year

  • Full-position, working Monday - Friday from 08:30 - 16:00
  • Improve student's speaking, pronunciation, and social skills
  • Work alongside speech and language therapists and the SENCO

About You

  • 1st Class or 2:1 Degree from a reputable university
  • Understanding of SEN framework
  • Experience working with children/young people
  • Keen to make a positive impact on student's social, emotional, and mental health
  • Confident, patient, and personable
