An exceptional Primary School in Tower Hamlets is searching for a creative and driven Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP, full time / term time only to drive the success of students with Autism (ASD). Your duties will include but are not limited to teaching, guiding and supporting 2 children with Autism in KS1, helping them grow and thrive in the schooling environment. The perfect Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant would showcase attention, care and compassion. If you have experience with children aged 2-7 (EYFS / KS1) with Autism or SEN, we would love to hear from you! This does not need to be direct schooling experience. All transferable skills/experience will be considered.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Supports 2 students with Autism on a daily basis
- Key Stage 1 (Ages 5 to 7)
- Liaises with Class Teachers and the SENCO / SENDCO regarding progress of children
- Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children
- Deliver specialist SEN interventions
- Liaises with the school’s therapists
- Start ASAP – Full Time / Term Time Only
- Located in Tower Hamlets
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Experience of supporting children (4-7) with Autism (ASD) or SEN – Ideal
- Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus – Ideal
- You must be full of life, creative, have a love for art and a positive personality
- A highly driven and compassionate individual who will exceed expectations of the role requirements
