The head teacher recently worked with parents, teachers, and students to create a new Autism Provision Unit at the school, designed to accommodate the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students. You will work in this new unit, supporting SEN specific lessons as well as


Teaching Assistant – Autism Provision role is ideal for a gaining experience within Psychology:



  • Assessing wellbeing needs of students is essential to the role.

  • Shadowing speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and more!

  • You will receive training alongside class teaching and additional support training for SEN.

  • The school has recently renovated their autism provision to house specialist equipment!


Teaching Assistant – Autism Provision: The Role



  • Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (with a 30 minute break)

  • 1 Year Contract with option to become permanent

  • Supporting students with Autism in EYFS-KS2

  • Working in and out of class in 1:1 and small group interventions

  • Supporting the implementation of care plans, and individual targets for students

  • Shadowing speech and language therapists


Teaching Assistant – Autism Provision: Person Specification



  • Holds a 1:1 or 2:1 degree – Essential

  • Experience working with children – Essential

  • Confident, down-to-earth, and patient personality

  • Knowledge of SEN
