- Paid position on the Unqualified Teacher (UQT) scale (most commonly UQ1).
- Employed directly by a school from day one.
- Higher initial teaching load, typically around 15 periods per week.
- Teaching load gradually increases to approximately 20 periods per week.
- One dedicated training day per week.
- Opportunity to gain QTS with PGCE (optional opt‑out available if required).
