A highly supportive and inclusive Primary School in Tower Hamletsare seeking a dedicated and ambitious Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis.

This position is ideal for aspiring Primary Teachers who are keen to develop their classroom practice before undertaking a PGCE or Schools Direct programme.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be based in Year 1 (ages 5-6), supporting whole-class learning, delivering targeted interventions, and working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

You will play a key role in helping children with additional needs access the curriculum, build confidence and make strong academic progress.

The successful candidate will hold a 2:1 or above degree in any subject and demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children.

Previous experience supporting children — whether within a school, tutoring environment, coaching role or youth setting — will be highly desirable.

Experience supporting pupils with SEN (such as ASD, ADHD or speech and language needs) would be particularly advantageous.

The ideal Primary Teaching Assistant will be patient, nurturing and resilient, with the ability to adapt learning to meet a range of needs.

You must be proactive, professional and fully committed to a long-term role within a welcoming and well-structured primary school.
