A high-performing Secondary School in Newham is seeking an Unqualified Science Teacher to join their team September 26. This full‑time role is ideal for a confident graduate, experienced tutor, or aspiring teacher who is ready to take responsibility for lessons and accelerate towards formal teacher training.
Role Summary- Deliver pre‑planned Science lessons across KS3–KS4 (Biology/Chemistry/Physics)
- Adapt teaching to meet a range of abilities, including SEN and EAL learners
- Use behaviour systems confidently to maintain a calm learning environment
- Mark work, provide feedback and support basic assessment duties
- Work closely with Heads of Department and mentors to refine practice
- Participate in training, observation cycles and departmental planning
£120 – £130 per day
Full‑time | Start September 26 – July 2027
Potential progression to salaried teacher training / Schools Direct
- Strong degree in a Science discipline (or closely related subject)
- Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, youth work, etc.) – preferred
- Confident presence, strong communication and a professional approach
