In the Borough of Merton, an 'Outstanding' Secondary School is seeking an Art Teacher / Art ECT for a September 2026 start. This is a permanent, full-time contract. Due to increased uptake in Art across KS4 & KS5, the Head of Art is looking to hire an ambitious Art Teacher / Art ECT to join their current team of 3 Art Teachers who form a larger Art & Design faculty of 12 teachers.

The School is renowned for their supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects. They are well invested in the Education sector, setting new teaching practices, as well as training their own and new staff.

Experienced Art Teachers can take on a TLR such as KS3 Coordinator, Pastoral Responsibility, and more. Newly Qualified Art Teachers (ECT) will be enrolled onto the School's bespoke ECT induction and will work alongside a range of young & experienced Art Teachers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Must have UK QTS or be in the process of gaining
  • Strong academics across the board - Degree, A Levels and GCSEs
  • Must be meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a 'Good or Outstanding' level
  • You must be able to work as part of a large team of Art Teachers
  • Must be willing to listen to feedback
