Overview
You will work across the English Department, delivering lessons for KS3–4 with a focus on attainment and quality of learning. The role also includes supporting GCSE and A Level interventions and may lead to enrolment in a Salaried Schools Direct pathway in September 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach KS3–4 lessons, focusing on raising attainment.
- Provide GCSE & A Level interventions.
- Engage and motivate students, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Support curriculum planning and assessment.
- Participate in school‑wide professional development and school leadership development programmes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate (or post‑graduate) degree in one of the following subjects from a reputable university: English Studies, English Languages, English Literature, English Language & Literature, Arts & Humanities, Creative Writing, Journalism, Languages Studies, or Media Studies.
- Good command of the KS3–5 English curriculum.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience or training in teaching is an advantage.
- Confidence in delivering GCSE & A Level content and assessment.
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative working with staff.
