Are you an ambitious English graduate looking to gain meaningful school experience before training to become a teacher? A high-achieving and inclusive Secondary School in Hastings is looking to recruit an English Academic Mentor to join their team from September 2026. This full-time position is ideal for a graduate with a strong academic background who is passionate about literacy, language development and supporting young people to succeed academically.
As an English Academic Mentor, you will support students across KS3, KS4 and KS5 both inside and outside of the classroom. You will deliver focused interventions, support students preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels, and work closely with pupils who require additional encouragement with reading, comprehension and written communication.
The school is particularly keen to meet graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology or wider education-based roles. You will gain invaluable experience working alongside experienced teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams within a supportive and well-structured environment.
