We are hiring for a Network Engineer (SRE), who will combine software, systems, and networking engineering principles to design, build, and operate large-scale, highly distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. Working closely with the wider team, you will help to ensure that Edenred Paytech's services, including both critical internal platforms and external-facing systems, achieve high reliability and meet or exceed uptime requirements by defining and maintaining clear Service Level Objectives (SLOs) derived from Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Using industry best practices, you will establish measurable Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that provide precise, data-driven metrics to evaluate performance against these SLOs. You will continuously monitor and analyse these indicators, including network performance metrics to detect deviations early, enabling proactive incident response and targeted improvements. You will oversee system and network capacity and performance, manage resource utilisation efficiently, and conduct thorough cost analytics to identify optimisation opportunities.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure PCI DSS compliance and implement best practices such as the latest encryption, access control, documentation and patching to maintain the highest level of security.
- Collaborate with AWS architects to design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure that effectively supports application deployment and operations, providing input and expertise as necessary.
- Establish and advocate for best practices in networking and infrastructure connectivity, enhancing system efficiency and reliability.
- Automate processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Env0 to improve operational efficiency and deployment speed.
- Monitor and optimise system performance and security of both on-prem, and cloud resources.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and business continuity plan (BCP) reviews, collaborate with Infosec to maintain secure platforms and ensure timely implementation of security patches.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities and overall performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems architecture, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Maintaining and verifying resilience, availability, and disaster recovery.
- Define, implement, and monitor SLAs by establishing measurable SLOs and SLIs, using data-driven insights to ensure service reliability meets business expectations and proactively address any deviations.
What you will bring:
Essential Criteria:

- Experience with compliance and security standards: Familiarity with PCI DSS and other relevant security frameworks to ensure the infrastructure meets regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving collaboration and incident management capabilities.
- Knowledge in network technologies such as TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, Wireless, BGP, VPN, L2 switching, Firewalls, Load Balancers, EVPN, VxLAN, Segment Routing.
- Proven track record in network operations across cloud and on prem.

Desirable Criteria:
- Proficiency in scripting and automation: Skills in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell and Terraform for automating tasks and processes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices: Familiarity with DevOps principles and methodologies to enhance collaboration between development and operations teams.
