Role Overview
As L&D Consultant, you will lead the organisation’s approach to learning, capability development and performance growth. You will shape and deliver the Learning and Development strategy, build a culture of continuous learning, and create development pathways that support organisational capability now and in the future. Collaborating closely with leaders across the business, you will ensure that learning solutions are relevant, accessible, and aligned with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Learning & Development pillar of the People Strategy alongside the Chief HR Officer.
- Develop and execute a long-term L&D roadmap aligned with business needs.
- Design, deliver, and enhance engaging L&D programmes, including modernising leadership development and facilitating in-house training.
- Partner with senior leaders and line managers to identify capability gaps and design targeted learning interventions linked to career pathways.
- Embed a consistent Training Needs Analysis process to support workforce planning.
- Support performance management through training and development initiatives.
- Own and evolve the graduate programme to meet future talent needs.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and deliver Equity, Diversity & Inclusion learning initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external learning partners and suppliers, overseeing the L&D budget and reporting on metrics, insights, and impact.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience designing, delivering, and assessing training programmes, including facilitation skills.
- Strong knowledge of learning design principles, including digital and blended learning.
- Demonstrated ability to influence learning culture and build relationships at all levels.
- Experience with Training Needs Analysis and developing capability frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
Desirable Criteria
- Professional L&D/HR qualification (e.g., CIPD, LPI, ILM, coaching accreditation).
- Experience modernising leadership development or implementing enterprise-wide L&D strategies.
- Knowledge of inclusive and ED&I learning design.
- Strong experience managing third-party providers and budgets.
- Familiarity with learning technologies and LMS/LXP platforms.
- Experience supporting performance management or talent development programmes.
- Experience designing or managing graduate or early-careers programmes.
