Edenred PayTech operates the core payment systems for the Edenred Group, processing over 1.5 billion transactions each year across more than 30 countries. We support various financial products, including cards for banks, travel, fuel, employee benefits, and retail gifting. We hold e‑money licenses in the UK and Belgium and support clients with their own licenses. Currently, we are transitioning to a cloud‑native, REST API platform handling billions of API calls annually and we’re hiring a Head of Product to lead the Darwin domain.
The role involves partnering with your Technology counterpart, leading a team of Product Managers and Business Analysts, defining the strategy and roadmap, and delivering scalable, secure, compliant capabilities. You will be accountable for outcomes, budgets, and stakeholder relationships while helping shape a product‑led culture at Edenred PayTech.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and grow the domain team, managing 3–5 Product Managers/Owners and 3–5 Business Analysts (8–12 people total), including hiring and coaching.
- Define strategy across multiple product sub‑domains, aligning with strategic priorities; secure stakeholder buy‑in; highlight and deliver against regulatory deadlines.
- Own delivery outcomes and prioritise engineering backlogs, plan into PI/quarterly cycles, and drive on‑time/on‑scope/on‑budget execution with transparent risk and issue management.
- Build scalable, secure products to ensure non‑functional requirements (security, resilience, operability, performance) are defined and met; make solutions operationally supportable.
- Be the expert point of contact and provide clear status, roadmap updates, risks, and escalations to Executive, Technology, Operations, partners, and clients.
- Manage budgets and control domain budgets, including third‑party spend; build strong relationships with service providers.
- Champion data‑driven decisions to quantify value, rationalise business cases, and track outcomes with KPIs/OKRs.
- Drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, enhance monitoring/observability, and remove impediments to maximise engineering efficiency.
- Support audits and compliance and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet regulatory commitments and deadlines.
What you’ll bring:
- Deep experience in finance or API‑first technology environments; exposure to payment rails, card schemes, or e‑money is ideal.
- Strong track record in Product/Programme Management, leading multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver complex platforms.
- Proven success delivering to regulatory deadlines and across complex, multi‑stakeholder programmes.
- Expertise in agile product delivery; comfortable with backlog prioritisation, PI planning, and iterative execution.
- Cloud/SaaS/PaaS experience and familiarity with REST APIs and high‑scale systems.
- Strong operational mindset: process improvement, security, monitoring, and reliability.
- Data‑informed decision‑making with clear, concise reporting.
- Exceptional stakeholder management across executives, onshore/offshore teams, clients, and third parties.
- A self‑starter with a collaborative, positive, and resilient approach; able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to bridge technical and business contexts, empathise with users, and challenge constructively using evidence.
- People leadership experience, coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
How you’ll work with us:
- Team scope: 5–7 direct reports (8–12 across the domain)
- Key collaborators: Executive team, Heads of Technology and engineering teams, cross‑functional Product domain teams, Operations, group stakeholders, and service providers
- Working model: Hybrid. Offices in London, Swindon, Brussels, Bucharest, and Mexico City
- Travel: Occasional UK/European travel (typically 1–3 days); occasional international travel (3–5 days)
What success looks like:
- A clear, value‑driven roadmap delivered on time, in scope, and on budget
- Scalable, secure, and compliant domain services with strong operational readiness
- Measurable business impact, evidenced through KPIs/OKRs
- High stakeholder confidence, effective partner management, and disciplined budget control
- A motivated, high‑performing team with a culture of continuous improvement
