Objection of the function/role

  • Part of a fast-moving environment where key objectives include:
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Business stakeholders to gain a full understanding of the business requirements, while ensuring the business context is captured.
  • Performing GAP analysis on requirements and understanding the impact to existing systems and the business.
  • Support the analysis, documentation and implementation of the functional & non-functional requirements in sufficient detail for development and QA teams to produce the item.
  • Supporting the delivery of any materials required to aid training and communication of new and existing solutions.
  • Ensuring payment regulatory compliance and internal risk controls are factored into requirements working with the relevant departments.

Key Result Areas

  • Improve capture of clear & concise requirements and ensure the value is captured so they can be prioritized.
  • Meet the wider needs of clients to facilitate the move away from the legacy platform to the new micro-service & cloud-based architecture.
  • Non-functional aspects are considered and captured so they can be measured. Key aspects for a payment’s platform are robustness (high availability), performant, operationally supportable, secure and scalable.
  • Key metrics are identified with the product manager and form part of the requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvements across the product domains.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts, Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to analyse:
  • New features
  • Fixing or optimising existing elements
  • Operational improvements including security, monitoring and visibility into the health and behaviour of the domain
  • Understand business cases and be able to arbitrate between requests, challenging requests where appropriate with relevant data.
  • Assisting Product Managers in prioritizing of workstreams.
  • Analyse and capturing both internal and external requirements and documenting them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Propose and agree solutions based on best practice and adhering to the rules and regulations of all countries involved.
  • Evaluating business and technical solution proposals and designs to ensure they meet the business requirements.
  • Identify the potential impacts of changes to the existing systems, organisation, its partners and clients.
  • Employ structured business analysis techniques when problem solving and eliciting requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and product walkthroughs with Clients and Business stakeholders.
  • Refining user stories with the Product Manager, Business stakeholders, engineering and wider Business Analyst team.
  • Collaborating with Test/QA team to ensure test scripts are in line with acceptance criteria of user stories.
  • Produce supporting documentation around processes, static content to support API/Integration documentation, internal or external as required.
  • Collaborating with IT development team both onshore and offshore to maximise value of end products, features and solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and current stakeholders across the organisation, IT Development and 3rd Parties.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set.
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with ability to liaise with all levels and areas of the business.
    • Strong negotiation skills aiding delivery of MVP.
    • Ability to capture requirements and solutions and document them in a clear and concise manner with supporting diagrams.
    • Results orientated, focused on delivering solutions with a high level of accuracy.
    • Ability to work on multiple workstreams simultaneously.
    • Highly organised, self-motivated with ability to work independently with a sense of ownership and responsibility.
    • Ability to work with national and international external clients and 3rd parties in a customer facing business.
    • Experience interacting with development teams both onshore & offshore on a day-to-day basis in an Agile environment.
    Advantageous skills include:
    • SQL to retrieve data from databases.
    • Fundamentals of software development lifecycles.
    • Spanish, Portuguese or French speaking.
    • Experience in the payments, banking or financial services.
    • Story writing in BDD.
    • Experience working within an agile environment.
    • System integration concepts such as REST APIs, webhooks etc.
    • Project tools like JIRA, visualisation tools like PowerPoint, Visio or similar.

    Additional Information

    Depending on the project assigned, the role will potentially involve meeting clients/3rd parties requiring occasional travel to either UK, Europe (potentially over 2-3 days), International (exceptional, but can be 3-5 days in duration).
