We’re working with a leading London Market insurer looking to hire a Delegated Property Underwriter into their high-performing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Underwriter with Canadian and US Delegated Property experience to take ownership of a portfolio and work closely with Brokers, Coverholders and key clients.
Core responsibilities:
- Underwrite Canadian and US Delegated Property business within agreed underwriting authorities.
- Analyse and assess renewal contracts, including risk selection, pricing, wordings and coverage.
- Prepare Peer Review submissions incorporating pricing model and RMS output.
- Lead and support renewal discussions with Brokers and Coverholders.
- Monitor portfolio performance, including rate movements, CAT loads and EPI.
- Support the delivery of planned premium, business mix and underwriting profitability.
- Maintain strong relationships with Brokers, Coverholders, insureds and distribution partners.
- Contribute to portfolio management, risk selection and underwriting strategy.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience underwriting Canadian and/or US Delegated Property / Binder business.
- Strong technical knowledge of Property wordings, coverage and risk factors.
- Experience managing and owning a Delegated Property portfolio.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of RMS output.
- Strong Broker and Coverholder relationship management skills.
