I am currently supporting a Global Specialty Insurer on a Underwriting Controls Manager hire.

Role Responsibilities

- Own and maintain the underwriting controls framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, Lloyd’s Oversight Principles, internal policies and market best practice.
- Own key underwriting policies and documentation, including Underwriting Policies and Procedures, Underwriting Guidelines, Pricing Policy and Procedures, Independent Review Policy and Underwriting Letters of Authority.
- Lead underwriting controls monitoring and reporting, including exceptions monitoring, controls testing, monthly KPI reporting and escalation of key issues to the Underwriting Committee.
- Oversee key underwriting governance and regulatory processes

The Ideal Candidate
\n
- \n
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within Lloyd’s or the London Market, ideally across underwriting controls, operations, risk or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s regulatory requirements, including the Lloyd’s Oversight Principles and underwriting controls frameworks.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience of underwriting controls, exceptions reporting and pre-bind quality assurance, with good proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. CII Advanced Diploma or ACII preferred.
