An innovative and fast-growing insurance business is hiring a Syndicate Finance Manager to oversee financial accounting operations within a Lloyd’s underwriting environment. This role is responsible for ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement across finance processes.
The successful candidate will lead enhancements to systems and controls, including supporting ERP (e.g. SAP) developments and finance automation initiatives. They will prepare and review management accounts, oversee cash flow reporting, and contribute to forecasting and financial planning activities.
A key aspect of the role involves managing Lloyd’s and statutory reporting obligations, including QMA and QMB submissions, and acting as a primary contact for auditors and regulators. The position also includes ownership of accounting policies in line with UK GAAP/IFRS and providing technical accounting guidance to the wider business.
This role requires collaboration across underwriting, operations, and risk teams, alongside leadership of accounting staff to maintain high standards and support ongoing development.
Requirements- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in insurance accounting, ideally within the Lloyd’s market
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory requirements
