Edenbrook are partnering with a leading specialty insurer on a newly created Senior Manager - Financial and Credit Risk hire.
Risk Oversight
- Monitor liquidity, funding, capital, and treasury risks
- Review asset-liability assumptions, depreciation, concentration, correlation, and liquidity exposures
- Oversee reinsurance counterparty risk in line with regulatory requirements
- Lead enterprise-wide financial risk assessments across business units
Investment & Treasury
- Provide balance sheet risk insights, including hedging and transfer pricing
- Oversee valuation, concentration, hedging strategies, and alternative assets (including ILS)
- Monitor capital inflows and market risk exposures
Stress Testing & Reporting
- Lead stress testing and scenario analysis across liquidity and credit risk
- Prepare risk opinions for internal committees, regulators, Board, and Lloyd's
- Enhance financial risk MI, dashboards, and Board reporting
Governance & Crisis Preparedness
- Strengthen governance, model documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Support recovery and resolution planning
- Lead financial crisis response readiness and critical vendor dependency assessments
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Partner with Treasury, Finance, Investments, Underwriting, and Reinsurance
- Promote risk awareness through training and deep dives
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on capital and risk appetite
- Build and develop a high-performing financial risk team
Skills & Experience
- Extensive financial risk experience in insurance, banking, or reinsurance
- Strong expertise in liquidity, credit, funding, and investment risk
- Experience with ALCO, ICAAP, and stress testing frameworks
- Advanced qualification (CFA, FIA, Actuarial or equivalent)
- Strong senior stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
- Experience with Lloyd's syndicates, ILS, or financial reinsurance structures
- Familiarity with IRR and PRA expectations
- Knowledge of Solvency II model governance (including internal models)
