We are working with a large Life, Pensions and Investments provider who are looking for a qualified Operations Accountant to join their Group Finance function.This role sits across investment operations, accounting, cash management and financial control, providing an excellent opportunity for an insurance finance professional with strong investment accounting experience.Key Responsibilities• Support the oversight of unit-linked daily pricing activity, working closely with internal teams and external partners.• Support the oversight of investment accounting activities, ensuring processes, reconciliations and valuations are accurate.• Support the management and oversight of daily cash management positions, working with fund managers and other external partners.• Work across investment operations, including third-party funding and trading activities.• Support the external audit process from planning through to sign-off, responding to queries, agreeing deliverables and resolving issues.• Support statutory close activities, ensuring key balance sheet accounts are reviewed and reconciled.• Prepare and review journals, accruals and financial disclosures to ensure completeness and accuracy.• Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the financial control environment.• Contribute to control remediation and maintain appropriate process documentation, including process narratives and control matrices.• Identify opportunities to improve statutory reporting, reconciliation quality, automation and standardisation across close and reporting cycles.• Work collaboratively with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Tax, Investments and senior stakeholders.About You• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.• Post-qualification experience within insurance is essential, ideally within a life insurance environment.• Proven experience in investment accounting, including reconciliations and investment valuation accounting.• Experience across fund management, cash management and treasury.• Experience with unit-linked pricing and box management processes.• Good understanding of daily treasury/cash management, including custodian and fund management processes and controls.• Understanding of life insurance accounting and the Finance/Actuarial interface, including valuation inputs and outputs, assumption governance and movements analysis.• Experience supporting external audit, including responding to queries and resolving issues through to completion.• Strong statutory close experience, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and disclosures.• Experience working within financial control frameworks, including control testing and remediation.• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate reconciliations, clear audit trails and robust documentation.• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain accounting outcomes to non-specialists.• Knowledge of Solvency II reporting would be advantageous.• Experience with Group consolidation, reporting packs, intercompany accounting or multi-entity structures would also be beneficial.Discipline(s): Finance & StrategyJob type: Permanent
