We are currently working alongside a global insurance organisation to recruit an Investment Accountant to join their Finance team on a maternity cover. The role focuses on accounting for investment portfolios, maintaining financial ledgers, preparing investment-related reporting, and supporting regulatory and management reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment reporting and analysis.
Record investment portfolio transactions and post investment-related journal entries to the general ledger.
Produce investment-related reporting for regulatory, statutory, and management purposes.
Prepare monthly investment performance reports and quarterly investment board packs.
Analyse investment and hedging performance.
Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations relating to investment accounts.
Support the preparation of financial statements for entities with investment portfolios.
Collaborate with finance, actuarial, and senior stakeholders across the business.
Contribute to ad hoc projects, data requests, and process improvements.
Ensure reporting is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Must-Haves Experience in investment accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance role, ideally within insurance or financial services.
Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems (e.g. SAP), with the ability to analyse financial data and meet reporting deadlines.
