Edenbrook are working with a Leading Professional Services firm within the Big 4 on a Manager/Senior Manager Hire within their Insurance Accounting Advisory Function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and advise on complex transactions.
- Act as the main expert for audit teams on complex accounting judgments.
- Collaborate with other specialist teams (e.g. actuarial, tax, risk, regulatory) to provide coordinated expert input.
- Provide accounting support on transactions to audit teams and assurance clients.
- Review accounting policies and financial statements.
In addition, you will:
- Lead your team in applying IFRS and/or UK GAAP to address key business issues.
- Build and grow strong internal and external networks.
- Lead diverse teams and foster an inclusive culture where everyone’s contributions are recognised.
- Anticipate challenges in managing diverse teams and apply inclusive strategies to overcome them.
- Identify and pursue new assurance opportunities based on client-specific needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships across the insurance client base, with a focus on exceptional client service.
- Oversee and manage engagement performance and profitability.
- Contribute to business growth through practice development and thought leadership initiatives.
The ideal candidate:
- A qualified accountant with experience of leading, managing and working within the accounting team of a professional services firm, accounting policy department or front office within insurance or delivering large listed IFRS or UK GAAP audits within relevant industry.
- Extensive experience leading complex technical accounting advisory engagements (IFRS 17 required).
- An ability to quickly develop solutions in a fluid and fast changing environment.
- Ability to work under own initiative across different environments.
- Significant presentation and business writing experience.
