We are currently partnering with a market-leading speciality Insurer to recruit a Finance Systems & Data Analyst. The successful candidate will get involved with finance systems initiatives across Syndicate Operations and international insurance platforms, focusing on GAAP and underwriting year reporting, financial KPI reporting, analysis, and process improvements.

Key responsibilities;

  • Managed finance transformation projects, including enhancements to the financial close process.
  • Supported product development and the design of FS&D products and services.
  • Presented FS&D initiatives and project updates to stakeholders across the wider business.
  • Produced high-quality financial reporting and MI to support strategic decision-making.
  • Reconciled technical insurance data to the SUN General Ledger, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Delivered financial analysis, including ratio-driven performance reporting and portfolio comparisons.
  • Supported month-end close activities, including management of the Postbox process (FDW to GL).
  • Assisted with the close and maintenance of the Financial Data Warehouse (FDW).
  • Updated and maintained custom written and earned premium patterns within the FDW.
  • Processed and validated manual adjustments within the Financial Data Warehouse.
  • Created and managed Azure DevOps tickets to deliver enhancements supporting statutory and regulatory accounting processes.
  • Performed data quality analysis within the FDW, driving remediation activities with cross-functional teams ahead of month-end.
  • Strengthened finance governance by supporting SOX controls, process documentation, enterprise data governance, and best practices around data integrity, security, and usability.

The ideal candidate should have but not limited to;

  • Experience working within the Lloyd’s or London Insurance Market.
  • Experienced user of Excel and proficient in Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and the creation of complex reporting using SQL Script including the ability to embed SQL in applications.
  • Ideally a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), but not essential.
