This is a broad corporate accounting role covering statutory reporting, monthly close, financial controls, audit, tax and treasury support. The successful candidate will also play a key role in driving process improvement, automation and finance transformation. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements across multiple non-syndicate entities and Group consolidated accounts. Manage the monthly financial close process, including journals, general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations. Own and maintain the accounting policy framework, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102. Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit requirements and deliverables. Oversee the financial affairs of Group holding companies alongside external service providers. Support treasury activities through management accounts, financial information and covenant reporting. Drive process improvements and automation across financial reporting and month-end processes. Prepare quarterly VAT returns and coordinate corporation tax submissions with external advisers. Maintain a strong financial control environment and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements. Present financial information and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Must Haves Professionally qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years' post-qualification or equivalent finance experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly UK GAAP and FRS 102. Experience within the insurance market, ideally Lloyd’s / London Market. Proven experience preparing statutory financial statements and monthly/quarterly reporting. Experience managing external audit relationships. Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting policies and statutory requirements. Experience working with finance systems, general ledgers and reporting tools. Demonstrable experience delivering process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging with senior management.
