Second Line Assurance β Role Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Second Line Assurance in developing a risk-based annual assurance plan, aligned with the organisation\βs risk and control framework, for approval by the Board.
- Execute the approved assurance plan, including scoping reviews, conducting control testing, analysing outcomes, and drawing conclusions.
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve the control environment.
- Prepare well-structured reporting for management, including summary findings for senior risk stakeholders.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing insights, findings, and best practices.
- Coordinate and contribute to the annual Second Line Assurance risk assessment process.
- Build and maintain effective, value-adding relationships with risk and control owners across the business.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing end-to-end reviews and control testing within a financial services environment, ideally within insurance.
- Holding or working towards a relevant compliance or audit qualification.
- Strong ability to interpret regulatory requirements and design appropriate test plans.
- Highly self-motivated, with a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive meaningful insights.
- Skilled in producing clear, concise, and impactful reports that highlight key findings and implications.
- Confidence in identifying and recommending improvements to enhance control effectiveness.
- Collaborative, professional, and approachable team player.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
