Edenbrook are working with a multi-national specialty insurer on a Assistant Company Secretary Opportunity. This role encompasses both Company Secretariat and Compliance elements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on and facilitating compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory company secretariat and governance requirements.
  • Reviewing and maintaining relevant Committee Terms of Reference and other key governance documents.
  • Coordinating director induction and onboarding.
  • Supporting and coordinating director training programmes.
  • Maintaining and embedding policies owned by Company Secretarial.
  • The role holder will also support the delivery of Compliance projects and transformation The role holder will support Compliance projects and transformation plans, offering advice and operational support on regulatory matters and changes. They will assist with financial crime, sanctions, compliance reviews, and daily Compliance tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in a Company secretariat function within the GI sector and/or consultancy experience in this space
  • Working knowledge of the activities of a second or third line function within the Financial Services sector
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate in writing and verbally

Desirable

  • Have experience of technical licensing matters including an understanding of non-admitted regulation
  • Have experience of reviewing Committee Terms of Reference and other key governance documents
  • Have legal experience including qualifications such as LLB. GDL and/or LPC
