Role Summary
Supporting the kitchen team with the daily meals services carrying out a range of duties to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area.
Days and times
Weekdays (Mon-Fri) – 09.00am – 2.00pm
Role Requirements
Volunteers in the kitchen must be able to work as part of a team. Long hair should be tied back, nail varnish should not be worn in the kitchen area and strong perfumes should be avoided. Jewellery should be kept to a minimum and shoes should be non-slip.
Duties and responsibilities
- Adhere to health and safety and infection control standards including use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Complete in-house food hygiene training (Safer food, better business).
- Soaking pans and plates.
- Operate industrial dishwasher machine.
- Set dining room tables for daily lunch service.
- Stock up condiments.
- Take the trolley to the nurse’s station on the ward.
- Bring the dirty trolley back to the kitchen.
- Assist the kitchen team with any tasks that they need help with on the day.
Please note this volunteer role will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service DBS check.
