At Eden Valley Hospice we are committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness, visitor and patient care whilst creating a safe and supported environment. We are looking to recruit experienced, hardworking and compassionate people to join our team of housekeeping staff. Due to the busy nature of our housekeeping department, the ability to work flexibly across the week would be required. Our teams have a sense of pride working for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. As a small organisation it means we work closely across teams and ideas for improvement can be adopted and trialled quickly. Our leadership team is visible and approachable, and you will have the chance to influence the work of the hospice. Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the hospice environment.
  • Interact with patients, visitors and service users in a courteous and supportive manner.
  • Work effectively as part of the housekeeping team and across departments to support improvements and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures and organisational policies.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles preferred.
  • Ability to work flexibly across 7 days, including shift rotations.
  • Disclosures and Barrings Service (DBS) check required.
  • Good communication and team-working skills.

Salary: 18 hours: £11,459.33 / 24 hours: £15,279.10 (FTE £23,873.60) plus shift enhancements for Bank Holidays/weekend working.

Location: Carlisle

Contract type: Part-time – rotating shifts across 7 days.
