Due to the continued expansion of our on‑site Café, we are looking for a warm, reliable, and customer‑focused Bank Café Assistant to support the day‑to‑day running of our hospice café and catering services. This is a flexible, bank role, ideal if you enjoy working with people and want to make a positive difference in a caring environment.

About the Role

You’ll play an important part in providing a welcoming, high‑quality café service for patients, families, visitors, staff, and volunteers. Working as part of our hospitality team, you’ll support café service, food and drink preparation, cleaning, and occasional events or buffets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly, compassionate customer service
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks and light food
  • Operate till and card payment systems
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety
  • Support catering volunteers when required
  • Work flexibly across different shifts, including weekends

About You

You’ll be approachable, provide excellent customer service and be happy working as part of a team in a sensitive healthcare setting. You should be able to manage your workload, use your initiative, and communicate effectively with a wide range of people. It would be great if you had café or catering experience, although this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Please note, this role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check which is paid for by the hospice.
