Help build and automate a next-generation data platform.
We're an exclusive transformation partner, looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a major UK Utilities business at the beginning of a high-impact data transformation programme.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in building the automation, deployment and operational foundations behind a modern Azure-based data platform.
You’ll work across data engineering, machine learning and application development, helping establish scalable deployment processes, reusable automation frameworks and modern DevOps practices.
A particularly exciting aspect of this role is the opportunity to contribute to MLOps capabilities, supporting the deployment, monitoring and retraining of machine learning models using Azure Databricks.
You’ll be joining a growing team where you can influence engineering standards, introduce improvements and help shape how technology is delivered across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines, including reusable templates for data and machine learning workloads.
- Implementing MLOps workflows to deploy, monitor and retrain machine learning models within Azure Databricks.
- Developing and improving CI/CD processes across data and application development teams.
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
- Developing PowerShell scripts and automation modules to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Managing secrets, environment variables and access controls across different environments.
- Monitoring deployments and platform health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
- Troubleshooting deployment issues and continuously improving pipeline performance and reliability.
- Establishing clear documentation, reusable processes and operational standards.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is technically hands-on, enjoys automation and wants to help build robust engineering foundations.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps, particularly pipeline design and reusable template development.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, version control and release management.
- Hands-on experience with MLOps practices and ideally Azure Databricks.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash and/or Azure CLI.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
- A proactive approach to troubleshooting, automation and continuous improvement.
Experience with MLflow, Model Registry, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs or Key Vault would be advantageous.
This is a chance to help establish the engineering practices and automation capabilities behind a significant data transformation.
You'll have exposure to modern data and machine learning workloads, the opportunity to work across multiple technical disciplines and the ability to make a real impact on how the organisation builds and deploys technology.
The culture is collaborative and supportive, with a genuine emphasis on developing people. You'll have access to career development planning, learning resources, funded qualifications and opportunities to attend relevant industry events.
The wider package includes annual bonus, competitive pension, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, health and wellbeing support and much more.
Ready to help shape the foundations of a modern data platform?
