Fantastic new opportunity to join a data driven consultancy. Must have recent and relevant experience of working in the consultancy space! As Head of Data Management, you will lead the company's data management capability, designing and implementing strategies that transform their clients' data assets into valuable business insights. This position requires expertise in data governance, quality management, and analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capability Leadership
- Create a strategic roadmap for the data management practice, including service offerings and delivery methodologies
- Lead thought leadership initiatives through white papers, speaking engagements, and industry events
- Build and nurture relationships with technology partners and industry associations
- Define and implement KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data management initiatives
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and career progression paths for the capability with the practice leads
- Client Delivery
- Establish robust data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs
- Build trusted client relationships at executive and operational levels
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal development
- Present complex data management concepts to stakeholders at varying technical levels
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure client expectations are consistently met
- Provide regular progress reports and strategic recommendations to client leadership
- Technical Excellence
- Design and implement data stewardship models with clear accountability structures
- Develop comprehensive data quality frameworks with clear metrics and success criteria
- Implement data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment processes
- Establish data quality monitoring systems with automated alerts for anomalies
- Create remediation processes for addressing data quality issues
- Quantify the business impact of data quality improvements
- Design and implement master data management (MDM) strategies across client organisations
- Establish data ownership and stewardship for critical master data domains
- Develop processes for maintaining data accuracy throughout its lifecycle
- Create and enforce data standards and naming conventions
- Implement technologies to support a single source of truth for critical data elements
About you
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, with at least 3 years in leadership roles
- Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale data management solutions
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies
- Experience with data architecture principles and modern data platforms
- Familiarity with data protection regulations, particularly UK/EU frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
