We're recruiting a Data Business Analyst with a strong data background to join a fast-paced, Agile delivery environment working on large data transformation activities. This contract is to support a well-known retail business.

We are searching for someone technical with a strong understanding of data mapping and modelling, alongside an abundance of SQL script writing experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working in large teams to deliver big complex data transformations at enterprise level. They will also be exceptionally skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirement elicitation and creating user stories as a Data Business Analyst.

In this role, you'll work closely with Product Managers, team leads and technical teams to define and prioritise data-driven requirements, create development-ready user stories, and ensure business needs are translated into robust technical solutions. You'll be heavily involved across the full requirements life cycle, from stakeholder workshops through to delivery and implementation.

  • End-to-end ownership of business and data requirements
  • Close collaboration with Business Leaders, Data Engineers, Architects, Modellers and QA teams
  • Agile delivery environment with modern data platforms
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst, collaborating with Data professionals.
  • Very strong understanding of SQL script writing
  • Proven experience in implementing enterprise data models.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data modelling, data quality, data mapping and ingestion
  • Confident working with schemas, data flows, use cases and functional specifications
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
