Due to retirement, Agrial UK now seeks an entrepreneurial and dynamic Managing Director to lead the business in its next phase of development.

Agrial is a diversified €7bn farming Co-operative and one of the biggest food and farming businesses in Europe. With over 12,500 members, farming over 5,500 ha of land (including 829ha of glasshouses) across 60 sites in 10 countries, Agrial sells over 170 tonnes of Florette branded products every day across the world. In the UK alone, Agrial has sold over 1.6bn Florette bags of salad since its launch.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Agrial Vegetable Division MD, the incoming UK Managing Director will have ultimate responsibility for developing, implementing, and leading the core business strategy for Agrial UK. The role will have full P&L accountability for the effective delivery for all areas of the business with particular focus on ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction, protecting and growing the ‘Florette’ brand whilst developing own label and food service opportunities.

The new MD will embrace the chance to bring a refreshed, energised and entrepreneurial approach to evolve the commercial, operational, and financial performance of one of the leading fresh produce businesses in the UK with an unparalleled and established brand in their category and the backing of a large European fresh food group.

The Candidate

Candidates will need to be experienced Managing Directors or General Managers operating in the UK own label fresh food sector supplying leading major retailers or foodservice customers. While fresh produce experience would be ideal, it is more important that candidates can demonstrate they are a hands-on, commercially minded, customer-centric leader who has a track record of success within a highly dynamic, fast-paced, seasonal food manufacturing business.

In this exciting role, candidates will have an immediate impact on daily performance as well as the remit to design and deliver a long-term growth strategy with the full support of the Agrial Group.
