We are recruiting on behalf of a fast‑growing fintech product company who are building secure, reliable platforms used in real‑world financial services. As their engineering organisation continues to scale, they are looking to add a hands‑on DevOps Engineer who enjoys executing, automating, and continuously improving how software is delivered. This is not a platform architect or strategy‑only role. It is a practical opportunity for someone with 3–5 years’ experience who can confidently execute within established platform frameworks and make measurable improvements day to day.
The role
- Joining a lean, capable DevOps function, you’ll focus on delivery excellence and automation rather than reinvention:
- Designing and building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (hands‑on pipeline construction required)
- Improving build, release, and deployment workflows across a hybrid cloud and on‑prem environment
- Managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
- Supporting containerised services using Docker and Docker Compose
- Reducing manual steps and embedding quality and security into pipelines
- Working closely with product engineering teams to enable faster, safer releases
- Maintaining documentation, troubleshooting issues, and refining existing tooling
This is a role for someone who enjoys getting things done and leaving systems in better shape than they found them.
Tech stack & environment
- Core experience required:
- GitHub Actions (designing and building pipelines)
- Docker & Docker Compose
- Terraform and Ansible
- Hybrid cloud + on‑prem infrastructure experience
- Software engineering depth or statically typed languages
- Tooling such as Vault, Cloudflare, or Cloudsmith
- Supporting polyglot engineering teams
Your background
- 3–5 years’ experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or automation roles
- Background in a product-led engineering organisation
- Strong execution mindset — comfortable working within established platforms
- Hands-on pipeline, infrastructure, and operational experience
- Exposure to hybrid environments (not cloud-only)
- Clear communication and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach
This role will not be suitable if your background is primarily:
- Kubernetes‑centric or platform‑architecture‑focused
- Pure cloud‑only with no on‑prem experience
- Consulting‑only without product company experience
- Azure DevOps or Octopus Deploy as your main CI/CD tooling
Why this opportunity?
- Fully remote role (UK‑based)
- Join a scaling fintech with a strong product mindset
- Work in a trusted engineering culture with real autonomy
- Competitive salary up to ÂŁ55,000 plus 4% bonus
- A chance to directly influence how software is delivered at scale
If you are a hands‑on DevOps engineer who enjoys execution, automation, and improving delivery within an established platform, this is a strong opportunity to make impact with a growing fintech client.
