An experienced Senior Commercial Advisor is required to join the commercial team of an established energy operator based in Aberdeen on a 12-month PAYE contract.
Working alongside the Head of Commercial, you will take responsibility for commercial activities across an operated and legacy upstream portfolio. You will safeguard value, manage commercial and contractual risk, and deliver robust outcomes through effective negotiation, stakeholder engagement and governance.
This is a transitional position created to support an ongoing business reorganisation. Acting as a key commercial focal point, you will lead the management of important upstream agreements, protect contractual rights and help resolve complex commercial issues and disputes. You will also support annual decommissioning security activities, analyse commercial and financial information, and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
You will have significant commercial experience within the energy industry, ideally gained in upstream oil and gas. Strong contractual, negotiation and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside experience working with joint venture partners and third-party organisations. Knowledge of UKCS commercial, regulatory and decommissioning frameworks would be highly advantageous. This is a purely commercial position and is not focused on supply chain or procurement.
The role offers the opportunity to undertake commercially significant work within an established energy business during an important period of transition. The position will be based at the organisation’s Aberdeen office, with the successful candidate ideally starting as soon as possible.
