Please note - this role will be fully onsite for the initial first few months, with a view to then move to a hybrid.

The Opportunity

As the Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you’ll oversee the day‑to‑day running of the purchase ledger function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong supplier relationships. You’ll lead a small team, drive process improvements, and support the Finance Manager in delivering a smooth month‑end close. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys mentoring others, and takes pride in delivering high‑quality financial work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Purchase Ledger team, providing coaching, guidance, and workload management
  • Ensure accurate invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with company policies
  • Resolve supplier queries promptly and professionally
  • Work closely with internal departments to improve processes and communication
  • Support month‑end activities, including accruals and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement best practice across the ledger function

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (or a clear desire to step into leadership)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
