Are you ready to lead change and shape the future of a key public sector organisation? This organisation is embarking on an exciting journey to digitalise and transform into a smart, agile operation — fully embracing technologies and modern ways of working. They now have a pivotal opportunity for a hands-on Salesforce Release Manager to join the team and help deliver strategic change programmes with a focus on agile delivery, CI/CD, and platform governance.
The Role
As a Salesforce Release Manager, you’ll manage the end-to-end release cycle of Salesforce applications that support mission-critical business functions. You’ll play a key role in release planning, deployment, and support, collaborating with delivery teams and stakeholders across the organisation.
In this hands-on role, you’ll:
- Plan and coordinate complex releases across multiple teams and agile sprints.
- Manage and execute Salesforce deployments with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Implement robust governance and change control processes to safeguard environment integrity.
- Oversee regression testing, post-deployment validation, and production support.
- Maintain comprehensive release documentation using Azure DevOps and Confluence.
- Work closely with developers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth CI/CD processes.
Your Experience and Background
We’re looking for someone who thrives on delivery, can get hands-on with tooling and configuration, and has the technical depth to work closely with developers and DevOps engineers. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience managing Salesforce releases using tools such as Azure DevOps (highly desirable), Salesforce DX, Gearset, CLI, or ANT Migration Tool.
- Practical familiarity with Azure DevOps, including Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans, and SonarQube for code quality checks.
- Experience working directly with VS Code and relevant extensions (Salesforce CLI, extensions for code analysis).
- A background in software development is highly desirable — understanding developer workflows will help you thrive in this role.
- Strong grasp of CI/CD concepts and experience implementing automation in Salesforce deployment pipelines.
- Working knowledge of multiple Salesforce Clouds and understanding of their release nuances.
- Experience with alternative tooling or platforms is also valued — we’re open to candidates who can adapt and bring cross-tool experience.
Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to play a central role in a wide-reaching digital transformation. You’ll join a supportive and forward-thinking environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a meaningful impact on both the organisation and the communities it serves. With a generous Civil Service pension, flexible hybrid working, and a collaborative culture, this is the perfect platform to grow your impact and career.
