Eden Scott is currently seeking a Retrocessions & Transfer Agency Associate to join their team on a 50-week contract, supporting financial oversight, audit readiness, and operational excellence. The role is based in Edinburgh and will require you to work 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee third-party Transfer Agent setup of retrocession agreements and fee terms to ensure alignment with BlackRock’s instructions.
- Perform and review retrocession calculations, ensuring compliance with standard methodology.
- Investigate and provide commentary on anomalies to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with Transfer Agency teams to reconcile fund activity and validate financial reporting.
- Prepare documentation and evidence to support internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with all SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls.
- Complete monthly SOX reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Research and resolve aged items through collaboration with Transfer Agents and Finance teams.
- Design a sustainable, automated process for validating fund groupings across large data sets.
- Review legal contracts, extract relevant criteria, and validate findings against reports for audit accuracy.
- Assist with business-as-usual (BAU) retrocession activities and ad-hoc calculations as needed.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements in Transfer Agency processes, systems, and reporting tools, with a strong focus on risk management.
- Communicate progress regularly to the manager, escalating risks or obstacles promptly.
