We are currently working in partnership with a successful organisation within the energy sector to appoint a Project Financial Controller to support a growing portfolio. This is a high‑profile opportunity to take ownership of financial management across both operational and development‑stage assets within an ambitious business.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the delivery of accurate and timely financial information across operational and development projects, including both historic reporting and forward‑looking forecasts.
  • Managing all external financial reporting requirements including statutory accounts, lender reporting, shareholder reporting and joint venture requirements.
  • Preparation and oversight of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis, cash flow forecasting and performance commentary.
  • Full responsibility for project finance activities including debt drawdowns and repayments, covenant testing, liaison with lenders and their advisors, and ongoing compliance with financing agreements.
  • Supporting financing and refinancing activities as development projects progress towards investment stage.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in a similar role within project finance environments.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including FRS102 and/or IFRS and prior experience of project finance structures, financial modelling and cost control.
  • Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting requirements across multiple stakeholders including lenders and investors.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial models; knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. Xero or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
