Senior Data Governance Manager – 6-Month Contract

Must hold current SC Clearance

Location: 1 day per week into either London, Glasgow, or Cardiff office (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 months

Are you passionate about driving data excellence and governance at scale? We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Manager to lead the development and embedding of a robust Data Governance Framework that ensures data quality, compliance, and usability across the organisation.

In this role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape strategy, operationalise governance processes, and foster a culture of data quality and innovation. You will be instrumental in defining policies, standards, and controls, while mentoring and guiding a community of data professionals.

What You will Do

  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics, ensuring compliance with GDPR/DPA.
  • Lead initiatives to embed governance practices across the business.
  • Manage and optimize Microsoft Purview for the Azure data platform.
  • Build and mentor a centralized data governance team and community.
  • Drive cultural change to make data quality a core business metric.

  • Proven experience creating and maintaining data governance policies, controls, and processes.
  • Strong understanding of data quality metrics and reporting.
  • Hands‐on experience with Microsoft Purview and Azure data platforms.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead governance forums.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and risk management related to data.
