A fast-growing energy business is looking to appoint an Energy Market Analyst to support its expanding portfolio of renewable, storage, and infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to shape commercial strategy through deep market insight across the GB power markets, working closely with senior stakeholders and influencing investment decisions.
You’ll play a key role in analysing power market dynamics and translating complex data into clear, commercial insights.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse GB electricity markets (wholesale, balancing mechanism, ancillary services, capacity market).
- Assess market fundamentals, including supply/demand trends and price drivers.
- Track and interpret regulatory developments (e.g. REMA, capacity market reforms, grid changes).
- Analyse revenue streams including ancillary services, arbitrage, balancing mechanism and capacity market.
- Provide market insight to support project development and investment decisions.
- Contribute to commercial strategy, including co-location and integrated energy solutions.
- Support development of revenue models for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and wind and solar projects.
About You
You’ll be commercially minded, analytical, and comfortable working with complex market data.
Key requirements:
- 2–5 years’ experience in energy markets or power sector.
- Strong understanding of UK electricity market fundamentals.
- Experience in market analysis and revenue modelling.
- Knowledge of BESS, renewables, or power market revenue streams highly desirable.
- Strong Excel and analytical capability.
- Ability to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
