Eden Scott is pleased to be working with a highly regarded institutional investment organisation to appoint an experienced Investment Analyst to join their established investment team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior investment leaders and contribute to the management of long‑term investment portfolios with significant exposure to real assets.

The Investment Analyst will provide comprehensive analytical, research and operational support to senior investment professionals, including the Chief Investment Officer, Investment Heads and Portfolio Managers, helping to inform investment decisions across a range of portfolios managed by the organisation and its investment management subsidiary.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting the ongoing management and oversight of multiple investment portfolios
  • Undertaking detailed investment research on both existing and prospective investments, including:
  • In‑depth analysis of individual assets
  • Portfolio‑level and macroeconomic strategy analysis
  • Detailed examination of asset fundamentals, structures, performance and valuation
  • Analysis of key drivers of future risk and return
  • Integration of Responsible Investment and ESG considerations into all analysis
  • Developing clear, well‑reasoned investment recommendations for Portfolio Managers, Investment Groups and senior stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining subject‑matter expertise across asset classes, particularly real assets
  • Liaising closely with internal teams and external suppliers, including:
    • Accounting and data providers, to ensure accuracy and integrity of investment data
    • Legal, risk and compliance teams, to ensure investments are implemented in line with regulatory, legal and internal governance frameworks
  • Supporting the implementation of the organisation’s Responsible Investment policy, including:
    • Engagement with companies and external managers
    • Stewardship activities and voting processes
  • Preparing high‑quality written reports and delivering verbal presentations to:
    • Portfolio Managers and Investment Groups
    • Investment forums, boards and other stakeholder groups
    • External partners and clients
  • Providing analytical and operational support across:
    • The investment team
    • Investment operations
    • Accounting and finance teams
    • External clients of the investment management subsidiary
  • Contributing to the continual improvement of investment processes, reporting standards and governance arrangements
  • Experience and Skills Required:
    • Prior experience as an Investment Analyst or in a closely related investment role
    • Full CFA qualification
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex investment analysis clearly and concisely
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
    • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
    • Degree‑level qualification desirable, with a strong academic record essential
    • Ability to satisfy basic vetting checks
    • Previous experience working with real assets (e.g. infrastructure, property, private markets)
