This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded freight professional to take ownership of domestic and international road freight operations while helping drive the growth of a developing road freight function within a successful global business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate UK domestic and international road freight shipments.
  • Manage daily communication with customers, hauliers, subcontractors, and drivers.
  • Arrange and monitor transport bookings and operational activities.
  • Provide transport quotations and cost-effective delivery solutions.
  • Handle transport documentation and customs-related administration where required.
  • Monitor shipment progress and resolve operational challenges proactively.
  • Optimise load planning, routing, and operational profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support business growth through exceptional service delivery and commercial awareness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within road freight forwarding or transport operations.
  • Experience managing UK and European road transport movements
  • Strong operational knowledge with a commercial mindset.
  • Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and post-Brexit transport requirements would be advantageous.
  • Organised, proactive, customer-focused, and capable of working autonomously.
