Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting our energy sector client on their search for an experienced Environmental Advisor for their team in Aberdeen or Barrow-in-Furness. In this role you will be an active member of the HSES team and provide technical guidance / advice concerning the HSES Management system and associated environmental matters across the onshore and offshore assets.

You will:

  • Provide expert environmental advice, support and guidance on environmental issues for Assets
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits for activities both onshore and offshore
  • Ensure environmental matters are embedded in the integrated management system and maintain the ISO 14001 management system
  • Provide support to the Assets regarding new and forthcoming environmental legislation, industry and best practice
  • Understand and promote the environmental and associated legal requirements
  • Identify and support Assets to manage environmental risks
  • Provide strategic input and delivery of the HSES improvement plan
  • Lead and/or participate in investigations into accidents/incidents to identify underlying causes, recommend preventative measures and trend performance
  • Lead and/or participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance to legal requirements and the HSES management system
  • Performance assessment, monitoring, benchmarking and reporting

Onshore based however will require regular visits to offshore installations.

You will need:

  • Degree or qualification in Environmental Management or a related subject
  • Oil and gas experience
  • To be highly knowledgeable in UK environmental legislation
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO14001 certification
  • OFFSHORE CERTIFICATION IS ESSENTIAL - BOSIET and Medical

This is a one year contract (potential to extend). The role can be based in the Aberdeen office or at Barrow Terminal. Core office days are Tuesday and Wednesday with one other day to work (3 days in the office minimum required). There will be travel offshore required and if based in Aberdeen, travel to Barrow site too. Due to this, offshore certification must be in place. For days spent offshore the candidate would receive an uplift of £100 on top of the agreed day rate.
