Interim Finance Manager, Salary £55K, Edinburgh Based with flexible working
An established organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Manager to take responsibility for its day-to-day finance operation and provide leadership to an established accounting and finance team.
This is a fixed term role until April 2027. This role is based in Edinburgh with flexible working.
This is a broad, hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly take control of the monthly reporting cycle, support budget holders and provide clear financial insight to senior stakeholders. Alongside strong management accounting and business partnering experience, you must be comfortable setting priorities, managing deadlines and providing visible leadership to a sizeable finance team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing an accounting, finance and payroll team
- Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts and reporting timetable
- Reviewing management information, variance analysis and financial performance
- Working closely with budget holders to improve financial understanding and decision-making
- Coordinating annual budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections
The position has responsibility for management accounts, budgets and forecasts, statutory accounts, cash management, payroll, ledgers, fixed assets, audit liaison and financial systems, alongside the direct management of the wider finance team.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Candidates can be fully qualified, part-qualified or qualified-by-experience
- Strong management accounting experience within an organisation
- Practical experience of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- A successful track record of business partnering with operational and senior stakeholders
- Previous responsibility for leading, organising and developing an accounting and finance team
- The ability to review financial information, identify areas of concern and communicate these clearly
