We are looking for a highly motivated Hygiene Operative / Cleaner to join our client’s fast-paced production team based in Leith.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely by adhering to the site’s 'only zero is acceptable' safety policy.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleaning and hygiene on site, maintaining audit readiness at all times, including GMP audits and accurate record keeping.
  • Assist the Hygiene Supervisor in effective pest control management.
  • Complete the hygiene schedule and communicate priorities with department heads.
  • Maintain cleanliness of site facilities, including office cleaning, toilets, locker room, and canteen.
  • Support effective waste and environmental control, ensuring proper segregation and disposal procedures.
  • Coordinate with the waste recycling contractor, ordering and coordinating skips.
  • Control consumable stocks relevant to the role.
  • Carry out internal bulk tank cleaning operations on a scheduled basis, including entry into confined spaces.
  • Engage in site pest control activities and contribute to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hygiene best practice within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Pest control awareness.
  • Food safety awareness.
  • Experience with record keeping.
  • Understanding of COSHH requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with staff and other departments.
  • FLT licence would be advantageous.

Hours & Compensation:

Hourly Rate: £14.35 per hour. Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
