An outstanding vacancy has arisen for Head of Financial Planning within a regional financial advice firm in Scotland. Having gone through a period of change and replicating the same position in other areas, the company are keen to replicate the same success here. It is a key hire, an exciting time to be joining and a unique opportunity to help lead the team, see the impact your duties make and drive performance.

This is not a regulated position, but it will lead a team of 15 planners based mainly in central Scotland with 1 direct report to help them exceed their targets, implement strategies and ensure that the best compliant advice is given to their clients.

Key duties will include but not limited to:

  • Leading the team of financial planners to ensure targets, client outcomes and efficiencies are exceeded working alongside the rest of the regional leadership team by implementing strategies and promoting collaboration.
  • Driving client experience to the highest quality, coaching and mentoring the teams supporting professional development and assessing via measurable metrics in line with regulations and standards.
  • Keeping up to speed with industry regulation, rolling out new product and technical products and procedures to promote efficiency.
  • Working closely with the regional heads of other departments in the area to aid collaboration across the teams in the area in addition to recruitment, succession planning and overall growth of the business.

To be considered for this role, you must be a highly experienced senior manager with experience working with financial planners in a similar position. A large amount of the job can be done via teams meetings etc and manage your own diary but some travel will be involved so they are flexible across central Scotland. A track record in achieving/exceeding targets with a proven success rate is key, along with fitting in their team dynamics and aligned to their company culture. CII qualifications and having worked in another national advice firm with change/strategy experience would also be preferred.
