Are you an experienced IT procurement professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for innovation? Our client, a leading energy services organisation, is seeking a driven and collaborative Global Category Manager to lead sourcing strategies within IT categories. This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, cost management, and fostering strong supplier relationships. This role is Aberdeen-based with a hybrid structure (3 days in the office, 2 days at home). Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement global category strategies, focusing on cost savings, efficiency, and risk management. Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance aligns with business needs. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, potential suppliers, and opportunities for innovation. Collaborate with regional teams and stakeholders to align category strategies with business objectives. Lead large-scale tenders and leverage spend with strategic suppliers to support the category Technology Road Map. Mentor and guide teams, promoting best practices in procurement and conflict resolution. What You’ll Need: Strong experience in IT procurement/category management with a proven track record of delivering results. Energy sector industry experience. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate market trends and make informed decisions. Proficiency in supplier contracting, with an understanding of key contract clauses and negotiation tactics. Ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility quickly, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. A lean mindset, focused on continuous improvement and process optimisation.
