We are currently partnering with a leading organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector to appoint a Finance Business Partner to support a key regional business unit. This is a high-profile role offering strong exposure to operational and strategic decision-making within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent) with demonstrable post-qualified experience in financial planning, analysis and business partnering. You will have a strong track record of supporting operational stakeholders, providing insight, and driving financial performance within a project or contract-based environment.
Your role will include:
- Supporting operational teams and Project Managers with financial insight, ensuring clear understanding of project performance and financial drivers.
- Preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and performance commentary.
- Delivering financial planning and analysis, including KPI tracking (such as invoice lag, debtors, productivity and cost performance), providing actionable insights to improve performance.
- Playing a key role in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with leadership to shape and deliver financial plans.
- Conducting regular project reviews to ensure financial performance is appropriately assessed and risks are identified early.
This is a small sample of what is a business-critical finance role. We are looking for a candidate with the following characteristics:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in a Finance Business Partnering, FP&A or Management Accounting role within a project-driven or operational environment.
- Strong analytical capability with experience of interpreting financial data, identifying trends and providing meaningful insight.
- Experience of working closely with non-financial stakeholders, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cost control within a project or contract environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
