Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment? We're working with a growing and highly regarded accountancy practice in the heart of Glasgow, known for its collaborative culture, strong client relationships, and commitment to staff development. As part of their continued success and expansion, they're now looking to appoint a Payroll Manager to lead their payroll function.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage your own portfolio of clients, processing end-to-end payroll across a variety of frequencies while also overseeing and supporting a small, capable team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full end-to-end payroll cycle for a diverse client base, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Leading and mentoring a small payroll team, providing guidance and support
  • Handling payroll queries and building strong relationships with clients
  • Staying up to date with payroll legislation and ensuring best practice
  • Supporting process improvements and contributing to the continued growth of the payroll function

About You

  • Must have experience working within an accountancy practice either presently or previously
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing across multiple client cycles
  • Confident managing client relationships and leading or supporting a team
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Open to experienced Payroll Team Leaders or Supervisors ready to step up, as well as those already in a management role seeking a new challenge
